Junior ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker prospect Travis Hughes (Virginia Beach, Fla./Kempsville) is holding a written offer from Maryland and verbal offers from Virginia Tech, N.C. State, West Virginia, Penn State and East Carolina, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideMDSports.com reports.
His father, Tony Hughes, said, "After the football season is when I think he'll make a commitment. He'll commit before he's a senior. Maryland has a big [headstart] right now because Maryland is like a family to him."
He rushed for 1,230 yards and 15 touchdowns while also registering 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss and two interceptions.
